IP forwarding issues ?
hy, i have an issue. I run Debian Sarge 3.1 and it is directly connected to the internet through an ADSL modem and my brother runs windows XP which is going online over my Debian run computer. But the problem is following. When he tries to access for example www.yahoo.com no way, no result, no error display just a blank website and a message trying to connect www.yahoo.com ....
anybody have an idea about what could be the problem ?

Can he ping through to www.yahoo.com from the command prompt in Windows? Or can he use nslookup to resolve names? It sounds, however, that you have not enabled NAT and IP masquerading on your computer to allow it to handle requests from other computers, if I understand correctly how your machines are connected. There are some tutorials on this website explaining how to configure NAT and ip masquerading that should help you.

Nope, IP forwarding and NAT are enabled, he can ping thorugh www.yahoo.com thats why i have been wondering why it won't work. He can reach some websites like perhaps www.google.com, they are displayed normally, but some websites just aren't displayed. Maybe it is because of adsl....
