IP address woes / slackware 9.1
Hello,
I am running a small subnet inside of something of a complex network (for a home). It diagrams like this:
++Cable Modem/Router==Linksys router =webserver running on slackware
=iptables firewall running on slackware
=workstation
=workstation
=workstation
The webserver is on its own subnet
The iptables firewall protects the subnet that the workstations are on.
The webserver is on its own subnet because I want to be able to access it from the internet. I am not an expert with TCP/IP , but I suspect it has something to do with the fact that the cable modem/router is doing NAT. It is a Netgear wireless router. I can ping inside of each subnet, and I can get to the internet from all of the machines, but when I go to whatismyip.com, each machine shows the same IP address. Is there some setting on the Netgear router(cable modem/router) that will allow me to get to both the firewall and the webserver visible from the outside (I have already successfully FTP'd files back and forth from the firewall from the outside)?
Thanks much.
Tom
