IP address for PC with 2 NICs?

total network newb has both PCs running Mandriva 10.2 and network has been configured in MCC GUI. Yes, I have TONS of ntwking tutorials on my desktop, but somehow not getting all the relationships between resolv.conf, iptables, DNS server, hosts. allow, etc.,.........

DSL <- eth1 ( dynamic) PC2 -> eth0 (192.168.10.2 ) -> hub <- eth0 (192.168.10.1) PC1

this network is running but occasionally gets squirrelly with eth0 on PC2. PC2 is set as gateway and ssh (using Konqueror) and internet sharing is enabled on PC2. Can eth1 and eth0 both have the 192.168.10.2 IP address or could this be causing the occasional glitch?

Any help appreciated
Thanks

To my knowledge, the NICs must have different IP addresses. The DHCP lease is for a given MAC address; thus, I think that will cause confusion is both NICs are requesting the same IP. Ultimately it's up to the DHCP server to resolve, but it would certainly lead to odd behavior.
