IP 4 / IP 6 Info

Hi does anyone know how I can check if my Linux server is running dual stack IP v 4 and V6 ?

When I run the ifconfig command, it shows the inet addr ( v4)and inet6 addr (v6), so this shows both, so I just want someone to confirm this is how one determines both are running, or if there is another way?

Have you the rest of a network set up for ipv6? Gateway, default route, ipv6 forwarding? You have ping6 and I would access it from elsewhere with ipv6
