internet to a single host through route; and samba :)

Hi everyone , new to the forum

I have a bit of a problem, i've got my linux server with eth0 and eth1.

eth0 with dhcpcd from a cable modem working perfectly
eth1 with dhcpd to a single windows machine, also working perfectly

Problem 1:
samba is already up and running, and i am able to login to my windows shares with smbclient.
But i don't have neither smbmount nor smbumount
can i mount the smbfs on my win machine using only the mount command (my kernel has smbfs support)?

Problem 2:
I cannot access my linux shares from the windows machine.
The error messages are several and vary.
Sometimes it cannot acces the service, some other times it doesn't accept any of the passwords i use..
What can i do??

Problem 3:
I cannot give internet acces to my win machine...
I've been told that i can do it simply with the route, thus i don't want to use ip masquerading..
Does anyone know how shoul i do it??

It got a bit long...sory 'bout that

Thanksss
Mux

i would

start with using static ip addresses on the lan side. then, use hosts files to make sure your systems can resolve to each other over tcp/ip. they can ping each other and all? from the windows, do yhou see the samba server in net. neighborhood?

they do see each other

They do ping each other, and I can actually see my linux box in net neighbourhood, though when i try to acces it i can't.

I can also see my windows shares using smbclient, though this isn't of much use 'cuz it is ftp-like and i can't seem to handle the long filenames: for instance when i try "get "Pink Floyd - Wish you were here" ", the ansqer is "Pink file does not exist".

I do not have smbmount nor smbumount so i was wandering if there is a way to mount the smbfs simply with the mount command, or a way in the smb package to compiles only these two files.

Have you configured Samba server to share files?
For Linux-client install LinNeighbourhood (for sure it's name it's different, search for something similar; I just can't remember its' name...).
