First of all, I'd just like to say that I have no choice in the matter, and must use Windows to access the internet.
I'm duel-booting with RedHat Linux 7.1.
That being said, is there any possible way to access the Internet through Windows while being in Linux? I'm guessing there is not, but...well that's why I'm asking.
It probably sounds stupid, and impossible, and I bet I'm not explaining this clear enough...
...but what I'd like to do is to be working in Linux. Then, if I can, mount the windows partition and then access the internet...
Erm...is this possible at all? Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Thanks!
Why do you have to use Windows? Let use know.
There is no way to do it by mounting a partition. You can use a program like Vmware and run Windows and Linux at the same time. I know some on that played around with it and liked it.
I have to use Window$ because I have a cable modem...and I access through the internet through a proxy server (which runs Windows...so sad). So...that's why.
Does Vmware allow me to run my existing Linux system AND Windows system at the same time? Would this help me in accessing the internet through Linux? Thanks!

Do you mean that your modem is not supported under Linux or that you ISP has some authentication that only allows Windows to connect? If it is the modem, I would by another modem.
As I understand vmware let you run Windows and Linux at the sametime. You can assign the nic with 2 ipaddress. Them you can setup Windows with a proxy service such as the one at www.analogX.com.
Yes vmware is expensive, but if you are in school I think that they offer a student discount. If all else go buy a P-233 PC and run that as your Windows machine. I think you could get one on Ebay for less than $100.
Other than that I am out of ideas.
