Unhappy internet shereing

right as the tittle sugests im trying to shere an internet connection.

i am using suse 9.3 pro and have succesfully connected to the internet with this machine and the device that connects to the internet in ppp0 and the device that connects to my LAN is eth0. i have tried several tutorials and all of them have had a 0% success rate

ppp0 = DHCP by ISP
eth0 = 10.20.99.254/255.255.0.0

i have been trying for 2 days to get this working and its getting very annoying and i dont want to use squid, well i do as a transparent proxy but i want to set this up first

can anybody please help please!!

# iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -o ppp0 -j MASQUERADE
# echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward

thanks but just befor i refreshed this page i just managed to get it working with virtually the same command wut with full syntax

iptables --table nat --append POSTROUTING --out-interface ppp0 -j MASQUERADE

thanks any way, al the other tutorials i tried was a lot more complicated than that thats why i think i either kept going wrong or it simply didnt work

now just to get the transparent proxy to work!

thanks again
