aight,

i have enabled ICS and it automatically assigned an IP for my windows server. Then I manually configured my linux's IP by running the command setup

after assigning the appropriate IP which I believe should be next to windows's IP, I restarted the network. I then ran ifconfig and saw there was no change in the IP. it's still the previous one. I tried to edit at the /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 after sabving it i restarted the network again. run ifconfig and still the figures for eth0 doen't change.

pinoy rules!

[Windows -> Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) and Dynamic Host Client Protocol (DHCP)] <- [Linux]

If Windows is setup to be the computer that shares the internet connection, Linux should be assigned the DHCP IP address.

If Linux is setup to be the computer that shares the internet connection, Windows should be assigned the DHCP IP address.

I was playing with ICS and DHCP today and managed to connect two windows machines togther and a mac and windows machine together.

Place note that I used a cross over cable and it can be done using a hub as well.

pinoy rules!
