Internet Problem

I set up a new machine running Lubuntu. I have an IP of 192.168.1.8, and am using an Ethernet cable. I can ping 8.8.8.8. I can not view google.com though. I can ping my router, and I can ping the Linux machine from another computer. I recently setup UFW, and when I run status, all I have are port 22 configurations, so I don't think that could affect it.

what nameserver are you using? (eg what is in /etc/resolv.conf).

can you ping google.com? By name.
if ping 8.8.8.8 works, but ping google.com fails, that would point to a DNS problem.
