Internet Ping AND router?


i have a router at home with my linux box on. i have been able to telnet into my PC from another computer not on my network. but i had to know the IP address. i know that you always need to know it, but is there a way to find out my IP address if i am at school and i dont know it off hand? thanks

You will have to get your self a DNS domain name. I guess that you have a dynamic IP address and in that case you could you a free service like dyndns.org
