Internet on Fedroa C2

I just installed Fedora Core 2 and i am having trouble getting access to the internet. I have a dual boot up with Win XP. I have a broadband connection and my computer is netwroked with the family computer via an ethernet router. Any ideas on where i begin in order to get my internet up and running on fedora?
I probably didn't specify enough things, but i am a complete newbie to computers but need linux for university purposes.
Thank you for your time
