Internet/Network connectivity

Hi all:

I just installed Linux 7.1 on a parition with Win98 and XP. My network connectivity is fine w/ the Internet and my 3 computer LAN when it comes to Win98 and XP.

However, I cannot connect to any websites with Linux. I get a Netscape Error unable to locate any server. I have a cable modem connected to my router and router to my computers. Can you please direct me on where to begin to resolve this issue.

I have had a problem like this.
I'm a newbie of Linux User! Plz show me the way in detail.
I'm using the ADSL router to connect internet for all computers.

Maybe you'll have to change some settings on your router. My Linksys router, for example, has a setup page which I can access with a web browser: http://IP_ADDRESS_OF_ROUTER.

do you have an IP address?

Post the output of of "ifconfig -a" and "route"

Thanks for all input:

I tried ipconfig -a & route commands and I got a:
bash: ipconfig: command not found
error. And the same error for route.

anymore input on what my next step for troubleshooting would be appreciated.
