internet hardware causing problem with sound hardware

Some days before I have taken an ADSL connection. My computer's motherboard was not built up with onboard LAN and that is why I have used a seperate PCI LAN card. Just after installation of the LAN card my internet was up and working fine but sound vanished. My sound card is also a PCI card. After a critical observation, I have opened an IRQ (no. 10, set it to primary from secondary) and the sound returned. Both are working well.

From then, I have not installed any more hardware nor changed the BIOS settings.

All the things went well for a period of about 15 days. Then the internet modem started problem. The problem was such that the modem was takeing a long time to ready for work (even more than 1 hour or so) Initially I thought that it is the problem of the modem hardware (the modem is also a brand new supplied by my ISP). Still I used to keep the modem on during work and after 1 hour or so, the modem started to work. This situation went for about 2/3 days. From today, I have found that the modem is initialized as soon as I start the PC but again the sound is vanished.

What is the problem and what to do?

Please help. Thanks in advance.

PS : I have tried with opening some more IRQs (11 & 15 which are still reserved and set to secondary). It did not help me at all. As those did not help me, I have returned them back to secondary again.
