Internet Connection Sharing Problems

I've been trying to get this setup working for days, but to no avail. I've tried reading many many post about the subject on these boards. I've even used firestarter to set everything up for me. Yet I still can't get on to the web, or even ping my computers from one another. I've got an iBook connected to the web via and airport card (eth1) and a connected to my other pc via its onboard ethernet controller (eth0). This computer is running yellow dog linux 3.0. Then I have a redhat 9.0 box with ethernet controller (eth0) that is hooked up to eth0 on the other box. The IP of eth0 on the ibook is 192.168.0.1. ipv4 forwarding is set to one. And I've played with iptables far too much for this not to work. The client box has an IP of 192.168.0.2, a netmask of 255.255.255.0, and a gateway of 192.168.0.1. Please help me.

do i get it ok??? you have an Ibook connected to the internet, to it connects an other computer, and to the other computer connects an rh9 box???

ok! my bad! you only have to computers! you have to get the pc's to ping each other first! so the ibook to ping both the net and both the opther pc! then you should read the iptables-howto, if you don't want to feed you by the spoon

How do I go about getting them to ping each other? That's the part i can't get working.

I don't know if this makes a difference, but I don't get "unknown host" from ping, I get "Destination Host Unreachable"

1. get the ibook work ok with the internet
2.set up its internal interface correctly
3.set up the rh machine's network card correctly
as result you should be able to ping on the iBook both google.com, both your rh box (possibly 192.168.0.2); likewise you should be able to ping the iBook's 192.168.0.1 interface from the rh machine! if this is done only then continue with iptables!!
