I know there are a ton of threads about this already, but...
I am trying to share an intenet connection on a small network in my home. I have a server running Mandrake 9.1. Using the internet connection sharing wizard made everything work until the first time the machine was rebooted. I installed the latest version of shorewall from the web site and configured it according to the documentation. I also found the following command on a forum (I don't remember where):
route add default device ppp0
Entering this command makes my internet connection sharing work, but the command has to be entered everytime I connect to the internet, and only after the connection is up.
Does anyone know how I can make this persistent?
I use Line Control Server to connect to the internet using a dial-up connection. It uses a script to bring up the connection, and I added the command to the script, but it prints an error on the screen about ppp0 doesn't exist. I am assuming the route command is being run before the ppp connection is completely up.
