Internet Connection Sharing

We've been using a Fedora 8 box with Firestarter for this purpose and before that it was a Windows 2000 box.

In both cases, I installed the box IP Address as 192.168.0.1 because this was what windows demanded.

We are now putting in a new Server SuSE Enterprise 10. I have a paper on how to setup Internet Connection Sharing (without using Firestarter).

My question is, must the IP Address be 192.168.0.1 - or can I configuure it to say 192.168.0.10 or 192.168.0.100? or even a different subnet like a 172. or a 10. or 192.168.10.1?

Thanks in advance

You can use whatever IP ranges you want, assuming they are valid in one of the private IP ranges.
