Question Internet Connection Sharing

Ok some people might say that these posts have already been answered... I read them all , but unfortunately it didn't work on my end ...

I want to share a Internet connection between my PC ( Kubuntu 5.04 with 2 network cards , one for Internet and second for local network ) and my second pc ( Windows XP Service pack 2 Media Center Edition , one network card for local network )

I don't want to switch back to Windows to share my connection because i love Linux... I mean i even stopped using my second PC because it feels like s**t compared to this one! But my brother wants Internet on that PC, so i gotta do it...

I was wondering what application i need , what configurations in order to do this.
Please, if you can, make it simple because i am NOT an expert at this.

Thanks!

enable Ip forwarding from Linux
also to enable ip Masquerading u need to write some IPTABLES script

u can do that easily with some frontend tht will generate the iptables script for u
shorewall from shorewall.net is an option

regards

you can't have read them all... and it'd help to tell us what you actually tried, as the right answers are there, and you will be told exactly the same in many cases.

the XP client just needs to beon the same lan as the internal linux interface, i wouldn't suggest using anything like dhcp at all. set the internal linux card to be 192.168.0.1/24, and windows to be 192.168.0.2/24 with gateway of 192.168.0.1 also you'd need to manually set the name servers on xp too. should be it.
