Question Internet-connection on Mandrake 9.1 on Ethernet

Newbie to Linux....

Installed Mandrake 9.1 on a XP-based laptop (Dell Inspiron 82K). But my fibre-optically delivered Internet-connection does not work!

I have tried the wizard in Mandrake Control-Centre, and can see that the network-card is "up". But still no connection.

No log-on is needed on this connection (10 mbit symmetrical), and it works just wonderful on XP.

Any ideas?

where eth0 is the right network interface I might add
