Internet connection issue.

Hello guys.
I have installed an Ubuntu on my PC and I have a problem, I cannot even connect to the internet like that.
I have a router, the router get connection through the Modem, and the router is the thing that split the internet connection to the 2 computers of mine.
The name of the router is "Zonet, ZSR014CP, Broadband Switch Router", and my modem is normal, I got it from my ISP.
I have Ethernet connection.

When I'm using the Windows, I can surf and use the internet without even connect by my own, it's fully automatically. The internet details (like Username and Password) are configured in the Router's WebAdmin.

Hope to get helped here, because the Internet connection, thats the only thing that separate me from using Linux.

Does'nt Ubuntu have a little applet running - the NetworkManager-Applet - somewhere top right in a standard installation?
It should have connected you - but maybe you where offline while installing or booting...
Look for it.
(assuming you have a recent Ubuntu)
There should also be a menu somewhere in "system" which lets you configure your connection.

I have installed the Ubuntu though the Wubi Installer, from the Windows. And I have been connected to the Internet while doing it.

Now - I'm interested: what worked?

Was NetworkManager running and just not connected? - as is the case when you boot and no connection is found (because the cable is pulled out/the router powered off...)

Or did you need to (re)configure your network as in the link? (which is a possibility but what I thought was not likely...)
