Ok, first i'm a newb. I just installed suse 10 and am having problems connecting to the internet from behind my router(wrtp54g) at my house.
If I plug directly into the cable modem it works fine. Soon as I plug into the router I can't access the internet. I can access the router (can ping it, can configure it through the html portal), and when I boot into windows it works fine. And it is the exact same problem at my parents house (dlink 614+).
So, whats going on? do have to change some setting in Yast or on the router, or do I need a linux compatible router?
Usually this is not a problem as I just installed suse 10 here and it had no problems setting everything up itself... As said, give it the IP of the router at least...
Thanks! Its working now. I had to add the line to the resolv.conf file however the connection is very slow compared to when I am in Windows. i.e. it takes 20 seconds to load google. Do you know why this is?
Also, I added "nameserver 192.168.15.1" to the resolv.conf file. Should I add the host name of the router in "linksys"?
