Internal PCI USR with RH 7.0

Hi,
I have some question regarding Us Robotics PCI Internal Modem.
I have tried the NHF on Modem cofiguring.
when I, cat /proc/pci
Serial controller: US Robotics .... (model 2977)
Subsystem: US Robotics ....
Flags: medium devsel, IRQ 9
I/O ports at b400
Capabilities: ....

setserial /dev/ttyS2/ uart 16550A port 0xfcc0 irq 5

After I tried "setserial -bg /dev/ttyS[0-3]" command but acts rather strange
the first time I did it
it came back with:
/dev/ttyS0 at 0xfcc0 (irq = 5) is a 16550A
/dev/ttyS1 at 0xfcc0 (irq = 5) is a 16550A

I noticed that i think it is my sound card calls out in cat /proc/pci
Multimedia audio controller:
Subsystem:
Flags: bus master, slow devsel, latency 32,IRQ 9
I/O ports at b800
Capabilities: ....

I tried "setserial" with using port b400 & irq 9
as well I could never get irq 9 but i got irq 2 to show even know I type IRQ 9. Linux didn't sqwauk about it.

Could it be my sound card having conflict with Modem about IRQ 9 ?

The setserial and cat /proc/pci never equal each other is this normal for irq?
I tried also putting the setserial command in rc.local file reboot machine then I startx
it would never detect the modem.

Is it possible change the IRQ's on these newer pci device ? (the old days we had jumpers, I suppect it controlled in software and or the os)
The modem works fine the that other os (bill os).

Thanks,
