Intermittent internet access in Firefox on SUSE Linux 10.1
I am running SUSE Linux 10.1 on a wired broadband network. GNOME is my window manager. In Konqueror I can access any website at any time. In Firefox I can access some websites, but not others- like google.com. Other sites have intermittent access. I tried the Linux version and Windows Firefox through Wine with no difference on internet accessibility. All the different options Firefox allows for connections --direct, proxy, etc.-- were tried but the problem still persists. What can I do to get full internet access with Firefox?
Also, net access with Konqueror does seam a little slow compared to using Windows XP on the same computer and connection. Other internet applications have internet access problems as well. For example, the media player will not load any URL. However, I can use the RSS feader with no problems. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank-you. |
Strange. Are you running through a proxy or filtering? When first setting up squid you can have errors through firefox and not Konq. if you have not config. properly. Check all your setups.
This should be a simple problem to solve, only hard because of not knowing exactly what your setup is. A more complete description might clarify the situation and may show you the problem while you investigate. Hope this helps. fogcat |

Thank-you
Turning off the IPv6 did the trick. Thank-you everyone.
