Intermittent disconnects force reboot (RH8)

I was finally able to get my wireless up (thanks to beyer!), but I'm having a rather bad problem right now, or at least one that's annoying and makes me concerned. When the system's first starting, it hangs when it's starting the wlan interface, and then will return a list of errors. -- I start up my connection using:

su
/etc/init.d/wlan start
/etc/init.d/network start
exit

And anywhere from five minutes to half an hour later, the connection drops, and if I try to do
ifconfig wlan0 down
ifdown wlan0
/etc/init.d/network restart(stop, reload, etc.)
/etc/init.d/wlan stop
dhclient -r

or any command like that, it'll lock the system.

Last night, I was able to get it to stay connected for about five hours, and thought that it automagically fixed itself -- but it's not gone away. If there's anyone that can help, I'd greatly appreciate it. Again, thank you all very much for whatever you can do.
