Intermediate disconnects from SMC router

This question really isn't a linux question, but I thought here would be best to ask.

I have a SMC7008ABR router with 5 computers connected to it. All five computers will work most of the time, but once in awhile one computer will get disconnected and won't be able to access the internet or the router page.

I can't find any rhyme or reason to the disconnects. There's three computers that are getting disconnected but it will be only one at any given time (two of the computers have never been disconnected). The router can't even be pinged when connection is lost.

The router is configured to connect via DHCP. I"ve reset the router. The only change I've made since getting the router is I forwarded port 80 to use my computer as a webserver, and I've change the password.

Any ideas?

Very odd... Have you tried giving all your machines static IP's to see if that helps?

I haven't. Do you have to specify anything on the router? Or do you just put a manual address within the range on the of the router?

You don't have to specify anything to the router. You just give it IP addresses out of the range that the router is giving. You can also turn it off in the router I believe. Anyhow, I'd trying that.
