You must install the driver for the etho0

It seems that you have the same problem with me.
Please do like this: install kernel-devel-(kernel version).rpm; searching from the internet for it. Then su, install by rpm -ivh kernel-devel.***.rpm
, change to the src folder, make install.
Restart your PC, enjoy it.

Of course, you must know what is your hardware version, open the website for a linux driver source files from that in order to build the driver.

bhrugu,
If you meant net, not neat, please edit your post to fix the spelling. As it stands now, your answer is confusing.

Even though you have not given the version of Cent OS you are using, 8139 is by default supported and theres no need to recompile your kernel. It has got the drivers for your network card and I have used it with Cent OS5. There could be problems with the connection. You could try again by pulling out the card, cleaning it and then again putting it back.
