installing tulip.o

I am having problems installing tulip.o . It always states that the device is in use or busy.

Any ideas.

Are there specific IRQ, I/O settings for the card or not?

I have drivers that I have downloaded from Linksys. Then I follow there instructions..... They have you compile pci-scan.o which insmod fine. then they have you restart and run netconfig. Every time I boot it tries to install the module but fails. I have no clue what the problem(s) might be.

The tulip.o module should already be installed or on your CDs.I dont think you need the Linksys drivers.I use Linksys NICs alot(LNE100TXs mostly) and depending on your distribution, should be fairly easy to load.
Try this at an xterm as root:
modprobe -a tulip.o
What distribution of Linux are you using?

Linux 6.2....The tulip.o is on the HD from the linux cd. But it will not insmod. Always says resource is in use or busy. therefore it will not install.
