Installing smc2835 on fc3

Hey

I`ve got me a smc2835 wireless card. I`m running Fedora core3.

I have downloaded the firmware(1.0.4.3) and placed it in /lib/firmware named isl3890. Added the line "alias eth2 islpci_cb" in /etc/modprobe.conf.

When I run "ifconfig eth2 up" it works but in iwconfig it says not ready and in dmesg i get "eth2: mgmt tx queue is still full" . It also looks like in the gnome network GUI that the card is a ethernet card and not wireless.

Any ideas?
