First of all you should read the rules and stickies of this forum.
Is your subject good enough to give any hint of the problem ???

Second thing: How we are suppose to know which steps you followed and what errors you got ???

The way you will fire question, you will get the response.

so you need to install the kernel sources. use your graphical package manager (RPMDrake?) check out this link for help with your version of Mandrake.
after selecting 'install' with the tool, youll be looking for something that looks like 'kernel-source', and install that.

adilturbo, please don't start multiple threads about the same problem. It also helps if you use more informative thread titles.

pblm with the pppd support while installing the SAGEM FAST800 driver

hi again.

so i intalled the kernel-source2.6.8.1-12mdk without any pblm

i configured my lilo every thing is all right ,now i can select which

kernel i want to boot with(i mean the old & the new one).

then when installing the eagle-usb for my sagem fast800 modem:

Quote:
[root@localhost eagle-usb-2.3.2]# ./configure
i got some thing like this at the end
Quote:
========================================================================
distribution detected Mandrake

dhcp support no

pppd support no (runtime detection)
install eagleconnect (tcl/tk frontend) yes

generate documentation no
========================================================================
i countinued with the make command every thing was ok.
then run the eagleconfig command i get a message at first time like
Quote:
strings: '/usr/sbin/pppd': No such file
and the prog continued i entered the informations gaven by the
the provider i got again the same message:
Quote:
strings: '/usr/sbin/pppd': No such file
then when i rane the startadsl command i got a message
Quote:
connection failed
so should i install dhcp support and the pppd support
or only the pppd support?

use DHCP if your ISP requires it, most likely not, or if your computer is on a home LAN with a router which uses DHCP.
