Installing PopTop on Mandrake 10
 

Hi folks, I'm using Mandrake 10.

When I try to install poptop by typing:

# rpm --install pptpd-1.2.1-1.i386.rpm

I get the following error:

error: Failed dependencies:
ppp >= 2.4.3 is needed by pptpd-1.2.1-1
libwrap.so.0 is needed by pptpd-1.2.1-1

I can't seem to find libwrap.so.0 for MANDRAKE anywhere. Can anyone help?

Same problem on RH 7.3
 

I am also having the same problem with Redhat 7.3.
Yum'ed everything up to date, but was still unable to install Poptop.
The file libwrap.so.0 appears to be in later distro's (RH9, FC1/2/3) but not in 7.3

Any suggestions would be helpful.

have to manually compile poptop
 

To get around the problem, you have to manually compile the source and in the source is a flag whether to use libwrap or not.
