Installing Fedora with vnc

Hello

I am trying to install Fedora core 3 using vnc.

After booting from the cd I type "linux vnc" and shortly after I am able to connect to this computer from another. Everything works fine, and I am able to select and install all packages that i need.

My problem is when I have to boot for the first time, before all settings are configured. Grub is loaded, but how do I connect with vnc again???

I have to do it this way, cause Fedora does not recognice my monitor, and it stops working during the installation... (I think its my vertical and horisontal frequencies that are all wrong and i need to configure xorg.conf)

Thanks in advance!

it'll reboot in runlevel 5 and will try to load a graphical login. Since you're having problems running X, it'll probably be killed, so running VNC server probably won't work either. So just ssh in. Make sure you have sshd installed and have an unprivileged user account with wheel group rights you can log in with and su to root (skip sudo for now, but using that should be best practice). On reboot you will have to wait precious seconds before X is finally gone *or* boot into runlevel 3 (network + multi-user, text-based only) by either edit grub.conf and add a " 3" to the kernel boot arguments or edit /etc/inittab and change the 5 to 3 in the initdefault line before the box is rebooted.

HTH.

The problem is now fixes. I added "init 3" to one of the lines in Grub, and i was then able to boot to console and fix the problem in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.

Thanks for your reply, HTH!
