Installing a network with Redhat 9.0 and XP Pro?

Hello,

For the past three months or so I've worked on Linux, Redhat 9.0 to be exact, and I feel very comfortable now with it. My proudest moment was installing an Apache webserver from the command line. So, I consider myself a high-class-newbie

Anyways, after running Linux (not connected the internet mind you) for all this time, I finally tried to add it to a network. However, my old network consisted of two Windows machines, so obviously this is a bit different. Now, I'm a complete newbie to networking, so I have a few quesitons. See below...

Questions:
-How do I connect them to have them share an Internet connection and files, and make that all incoming requests go to the Linux box?
-How do I assign each computer a static IP while giving my DSL connection a DCHP?
-What is all this gateway and subnet mumbo-jumbo?
Various information:
-I have a Windows XP Pro and Redhat 9.0
-I have networking tools including an Ethernet hub
-I have a webserver on the Linux box

Yeah, yeah, I know:

If I need to buy anything, just tell me. I can tell that this most likely requires a lot of help, so I am really grateful.

Thanks in advance!

You will need one computer to act as the main internet connection. It will be the gateway. If you connect to your DSL through a network card, the gateway will need two. The first card, eth0, will need to use DHCP to get an IP from the DSL. The second card, eth1, will have a static, internal IP... Usually 192.168.0.1 .

The other computers will connect to the second card, usually at a hub. They will have static, internal IP addresses ranging from 192.168.0.2 through 192.168.0.254 . They will need to have a gateway setting pointing to the gateway computer 192.168.0.1 . They will have a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 ... This just means to only listen/talk to other computers that have a 192.168.0.X IP. They will also need a DNS setting the same as the gateway, so they can resolve internet addresses.
