Installation criteria

Hi
I am new to linux.i am facing problem in installation of RHLinux8.0.Actually,i am having Win98 on my machine.HDD is 20 GB.Out of this,15 GB is used in windows and the rest is free i.e. non-dos.When i am installing linux on this 5 GB partition and create /boot,/,/swap partitions,it gives error messages that the no. of cylinders is incorrect. How can I tackle with this problem. Please Help..also please suggest me the link where i can go through the cylinder defined partitions. Thanks
Puniti

as far as i remember, the /boot partition must be placed before the 1024th cylinder. I suggest you to try to make a 10 MB partition at the begining of your hard disk and mount it as /boot. This way, you should be able to begin install.
try PartitionMagic ( i think 6.0 is quite stable) to make the partitioning.
