Install Ubuntu from network

Hello all, not really sure if this post goes here.

I have a laptop and i want to install Ubuntu. I downloaded the image, recorded it in a CD and started installing the base.

The problem is that my CD drive is a bit f***ed and it only reads half way through the process (It happens on any CD not just the Ubuntu installation CD)

I can boot from the CD ok, but as soon as it starts copying packages and doing CRC simultaniously the drive just freks out and fails the copy.

Is there a way to install the O/S from a network server? I mean, boot from the CD, set up a network and copy the packages from the server instead of the CD.

Thanks
