install forcedeth on kernel 2.4.20

Hi! I have an nforce2 on board nic and run linux kernel 2.4.20. I downloaded forcedeth_2_4_patch_v20.txt from forcedeth site. But I don't know what to do next, because I'm new to linux.
Appreciate all help. Thanks in advance.

In fact you have 2 possibilities, either you compile a newer kernel (I think that Nforce NIC driver is part of 2.4 series since 2.4.22 or 2.4.24) or you patch your current kernel with the patch you download and then recompile it to enable your driver
Here is the steps:
-patch a kernel:
$su -
#cd /usr/src/linux
#patch -Np1 -i /path/to/your/patch/forcedeth_2_4_patch_v20.txt
#make menuconfig
#make clean && make dep && make bzImage && make modules && make modules_install
#cp arch/i386/boot/bzImage /boot/vmlinuz
#cp /boot/
Note that I've supposed that your bootloader is grub and that kernel sources are correctly installed.

Hi, Oliv'. Thanks for your help. Everything succeeded until make modules. Make modules failed, so I decided to install nvidia's nvnet instead.
