In need of bandwidth monitor for network

I manage an audio server network that periodically experiances unidentified bursts of network traffic that interupts the audio streams (sounds BAD!)

Any recommendations of a network monitor that would monitor the bandwidth usage of a few workstations and log/graph the results? I have no need for a packet analyzer or anything of that sort. I just need to know when traffic issues occur, I can look back at the time of the problem and trace the source of the excessive traffic back to the workstation that generated the unnecessary traffic.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

There's the swiss army knife of bandwidth monitoring: http://www.mrtg.org
The Multi Router Traffic Grapher works beautifully on large networks with multiple routers and can produce just about any output you want. Setting this up is not exactly rocket science but you might want to do some reading. The docs are great, though!

A lot easier to set up and for your situation probably more than enough is bandwidthd. If there's just a single router in your network and you don't want to monitor more than a few dozen hosts this surely is sufficient.

BandwidthD looks like the perfect solution.

Thank you!
