importance and function of linux command?? please answer

Hello and welcome to LinuxQuestions,

The best starting point to answer your questions are the man pages for each command. So log in to your Linux box open a terminal and type:
man <command>
where you substitute <command> for the ones you've listed without any parameters. If that doesn't provide you with enough information then you can have a look at them with the info command which shows a bit more:
info <command>
Apart from that you might consider some reading to get to know your operating system:

When you're encountering errors when running one of the commands above and cannot find an answer the usual way (man pages, Google), that's when you turn to LQ for answers.
