Hi -
So you're trying to implement the "DSR" Dynamic Source Routing algorithm in your "NS2" Network Simulator package, and it isn't working. You can't circulate "ROUTE-REQUEST" and "ROUTE-REPLY" packets (presumably in your simulated network). You've given us zero idea what you've tried, how you're doing it, and what results you're getting. Suggestions: 1. See if you can find any clues in this tutorial: http://www.isi.edu/nsnam/ns/tutorial/ 2. Try the NS-2 Wiki: http://nsnam.isi.edu/nsnam/index.php/Main_Page 3. Post your query on the NS-2 mailing list: http://www.isi.edu/nsnam/ns/ns-lists.html 'Hope that helps .. PSM PS: I presume you're still running ns-2.34 locally, on your ubuntu 8.10. PC, per this link. Regardless - please be sure to specify OS version and platform, NS-2 version, and any specific error messages/trace information you can. Details help :) |
i don't want to sound rude, but that is like telling someone to find a needle in a haystack. hope this does not mar my chances of getting help. i'm a newbie at ns2 and doing a project in routing in manets. my project guide is really after me on getting the work done asap. my current task which i'm supposed to do, i'll write it down in the exact words my guide said.
"implement any of the routing algorithms : aodv , dsdv etc on ns2 and come" now i have no idea how to implement a routing algorithm on ns2 and thus am here. i have learnt how to write simple scripts in ns2 and am quiet comfortable writing them now ( thanks to mark greis' manual. ) if anyone comes by this post and happens to know what i should do next, or where i should search next, or what i should read next, do care to help. even a simple link would be appreciable. thanx in advance |
