i have to disconnect internet to get on network
well thats it. when i installed linux (mandrake), i went in system configuration and network and created a new connection. i chose adsl, pppoe and everything and it worked, i could go on the internet. and back in the times where i was on winshit, i had a lan with my roomate so i wanted to be able to access our network through linux.
so i typed in a navigator "smb:///" but it said i dont have a network. so i went back in the system configuration, selected lan (or something like that), configured it. then i typed smb:/// again and it worked, the network was there and i could access it. but internet was disconnected (was no longer ppp0 connected but it was eth0). i had to delete my lan connection to be able to get on the internet again. not practical.
but of course i dont know how it works.
so i can i get on the network and on the internet at the same time?
