I cannot ping hosted domain (site) at server

I have weired problem when i ping a domain name which is hosted at the server. I get response

unknown host mydomain.com

Its weired because its the domain which is hosted at server.

So what is causing this and how to resolve it?

Though i ping to google.com or any other site returns with proper ip addresses.

Are you using a simple store bought router and pinging the domain itself then it may not work. many of these basic routers lack the support to DNAT back on itself.

Note: No double posting. Mentioned in the agreement you checked yes to when signing up.

About DNS, too many questions to ask.
Is there any NS running at that server?
IS the NS correctly configured: like named.conf, rndc.conf, zone file, etc.
Or
Is it a server running at register? Do they provide any web interface to modify DNS?
Google around first...

No its not running at server. I am using IPs provided by web host for NS.

Well, I am not sure about it (i think must be something wrong at somewhere which is causing this issue). If you guide me about checking whether they are correctly configured or not I'll be very grateful to you.

Lot of Googling done but still not found proper solution.

Issue is weired because Ping returns with Ip addresses for all external sites but error of "unknown host" comes only when i ping domains (sites) which are already at that server and working fine.
