Is 10.0.2.2 used for the virtual machine? How is your network setup? What have you tried thus far? Are there any other devices in the network? Any information that you can provide to us will help us to help you better. I don't visit much these days, but I'm sure if you reply with more information someone will be willing to offer assistance. Best of luck to you.

Qemu uses a virtual router in this situation. Not sure it has the ability to direct ping across to host, at least I knew it didn't for a long time.
Could be also that your host doesn't reply to pings or from ones outside trusted.
Ping is a rather poor test. Why do you want to use it?
You also have to set up dns in client settings if you want to expect to use this virtual router type nat.
