when you hear about VPN tunneling it means that your computer will be treated as a client on the local network on the other end of the connection. It is called tunneling because data on the wire is encapsulated inside another packet and encrypted before it is sent on the wire.

I'm not quite sure what you mean when you say http tunneling. Are you referring to http over SSL, or Secure http?

If you have a particular goal in mind, it might help to post details of what you're trying to achieve.

I'm getting ready to work out a project that might be along the lines of what you're trying to accomplish, so I'd like to hear all ideas on it.

Thanks.

Thanks chrisortiz and graciejj_82

the idea came up from a problem,
i currently have 3 sites with IP VPN Connections and Internet connection,

site a (VPN via DFR on a huawei router and works as backhaul - 1024kbps)
site a (1:1 intertnet connection running on same huawei router - 256kbps)
site a (w/ a squid proxy and qmail server running on 1 linux box)
site c (able to use peer-to-peer programssite a)

site b (VPN via DFR cisco router - 512kpbs)
site b (able to browse and download email on site a using the proxy)
site c (unable to use peer-to-peer programssite a)

site c (VPN via dsl modem - 512 kpbs)
site b (able to browse and download email on site a using the proxy)
site c (unable to use peer-to-peer programssite a)

some posted that needed is vpn tunneling and then i got confused with http tunneling?
