Question HTTP server set-up issue

I recently installed SuSE 9.1 on my P4. I want to allow my computer to act as an HTTP server. I went to YaST and enabled it.

Here are some more details...

Settings Summary
listen on 80
Modules ....
Default Host /srv/www/htdocs

There is nothing listed for Hosts under the Summary heading.

I'm told that if I have my index.html file in the correct directory (/srv/www/htdocs/), it will come-up when I type "localhost" into the location line on my web-browser.

To my surprise it says "The connection was refused when attempting to contact the localhost."

I place my index.html file in the following directory: /srv/www/htdocs/

Does anyone know why?

Do you have any firewall rule blocking port 80:
iptables -nL

Maybe you have not started the httpd daemon
/etc/init.d/httpd start
apachectl start
try that
