I am trying to run Red Hat 8 on a HP Pavillion ZE1115 Laptop. Overall its running great. My only problem is that I can not activate eth0 to get on my Cox Communications Cable connection. The NIC that I am using is a VIA VT86c100A Rhine-II PCI. If anyone knows any tricks to get this bad boy going it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
I can't believe your having problems, i have the same exact laptop and the same ISP. I have no problems getting online with it. Are you using the onboard nic or is a pcmcia nic card? if it's the onboard you should have no problems getting online.
This link might be helpful to you. My only problem with this laptop is ACPI and the modem, but I dont use the modem, so I dont care.
Tell me, does ACPI works fine with Red Hat?
