How to up linux (Debian) as a router for a windows XP?

Hi... is there a website/guide to setting up a linuxbox as a router for a XP machine?
I want them to be set up so linuxbox is plugged into socket while windows machine is plugged into a linuxbox, and both machines are usuable and have access to internet... any ideas?

P.S. stupid newb question -- how do I change monitor resolution in KDE? =)
