How to test Path MTU discovery?

So far as i know, the /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_no_pmtu_disc
is for Path MTU Discovery. By deafult, the value is 0, it means we always want to support Path MTU Discovery.
Any influence when i set the value to 1?
