Depends on your virtualisation method.

In VirtualBox, for example, the virtualiser has a networking module that allows you to define the virtual network card as part of a bridge, or have it act as a NAT device. Then you need only configure the OS networking as normal.

For pederosa I have no idea; it may or may not be possible.

first check wether you host is getting internet connection or not.if u r using vmware for virtual machine.go to the preference and check wether the adapter u hav used is getting ip dynamically or not.then go to virtual machine settings chek the adapter it should be bridged with host.

i am pretty sure that my host is having an internet connection cuz im accessing / connecting the virtual machine terminal via peredosa.

i got the necessary ip address and the ip for the gateway. all i need is to set up the network.

like how the steps and commands in linux on adding the ip and the gateway etc.

a step by step guide with commands would surely help if its not too much to ask

thanks for the replies btw, didn't expect there would be one.

*EDIT

I think the problem lies on the firewall configuration. is there any way to configure the firewall setting in the terminal? coz im just accessing the virtual machine using an SSH connection.

something like the "trusted services" and check HTTP / HTTPS ports.

*EDIT 2

well, i tried ticking those stuff but still cant ping google

It might be helpful if you provide information like what virtualization software you are using.
what OS is the Host
what OS is the guest.
What have you done? (setupwise)
Is there a network interface available to the guest?
