How to setup a vhost?


How do I setup a vhost(s) for my system..
I have a domain.
Ex: blah.com
How do I make vhosts that can be used for PSYBNC that is used to connect to irc?

What do I have to do?

if u use webmin is easy...
in servers category -> bind DNS Server
create a master zone for blah.com
and then into the blah.com goto address and create for example lalakas.blah.com point to the ip that u want to
aplly changes and u done....

the replication between other dns server is taken anout 8-10 hours so be patient :P

I have WHM/Cpanel servers


Anyother way

And they have to be used for irc

Whoever controls reverse DNS for your IP (maybe it's you, but maybe it's not) needs to set up the mapping for you. If it's you, set up the in.addr zone file as appropriate and wait for resolver cache to flush out.

I do
But I cannot find anyway to use the Vhosts for BNC or irc. JUst doesnt work

How can I add one in Web Host Manager

I have no idea as I'm not familiar with that software. You'll have to make your IRC connections go out over whatever IP the DNS entry is for.

As a side note -- you can only have one PTR record per IP address. If you're trying to do this with an IP that already has a PTR record then it's just not going to work.
