How to set up Network/Sound Card config?
 

Hi All,
I am preety new to Linux world. Determined to escape from Windows to chase Linux though. O.K. I have installed Red Hat 9.0 (from one of the publishers edition - 2 cds) and almost everthing works fine except two items.

1) Newtwork card is not identified while installation. So what are the steps I should follow now to configure this. How can I identify what kind of card
is installed in my pc?? and how to configure it?

2) Sound card is not identified too. Same question, how to identify what card is in my pc and how to configure.

If I have to download any
driver for this, then from where I can get it? and how to apply that drive so that it will start working with my hardware?

Hi vpatel, welcome to lq. Please issue the following commands from a terminal and post the results here.

/sbin/lspci -v

/sbin/lsmod

Could you post just the info from lspci -v that starts with this line.

That's a pretty common chipset should worlk with the i810_audio oss module, or the snd-intel8x0 alsa module.
