i ve installed RH-5,xp in my desktop(dual boot), my xp internet works well, recently i installed RH & want to setup internet conn in RH.
plz help me with d procedure......

Is it Red Hat 5 Enterprise Linux? If you've paid to Red Hat for support - ask them. If not , then install CentOS. CentOS is free. RH5 EL support and updates are not.

Perhaps RH 5 does not support your network device.

What kind of your network?
You had better update your linux version. Fedora 12 or CentOS.

a few things
so you installed the older REHL5. what ( the current 5 series is 5.6 ) ? and NOT the current RHEL6.0
Also RHEL is not free !!!!! you MUST buy a license and support contract
Also RHEL is designed for the server and the bis office and not normal everyday HOME use .

for cable
you boot into REHL5.6 and that is it
- you have not stated HOW you connect
cable,dsl,dial-up, wireless( 2g,3g,4g provider)
