How to retrieve DAD(duplicate address detection) status of an interface in Linux

Hi,

Can anybody please help me/point me to links/sample code to retrieve DAD(Duplicate address detection) status of an ethernet interface using netlink sockets.

It has existing tool to detect DAD. For example, sudo arping -D -I eth0 -c 2 192.168.1.1.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.
I want to check wether DAD is enabled for an interface or not programatically, but not wether DAD is success or not for a given IP.

IPv6 interface is able to do it. Is this you expect?
